About Team Randomizer

What this does

Paste a list of names (one per line), choose how many teams you want, hit Randomise, and get balanced random teams. Two modes:

  • Balanced (round-robin) — deals names like cards so team sizes differ by at most one.
  • Contiguous chunks — splits the shuffled list into equal-sized slices, useful when the original order still matters.

Optional custom team labels (e.g. Red / Blue / Green). Each team card has a Copy button that copies the team's members as a Markdown list.

Handy for

  • Splitting a class into project groups
  • Sports drills, tournament brackets, pickup games
  • Workshop breakout rooms
  • Random pair-ups for peer review
