About AI Summarizer

The difference between a good and a bad summary isn't length — it's what you keep. The Toolenza summariser accepts three input sources (paste text, paste a URL, upload a PDF) and three output styles (bullets for scanning, TL;DR for one-line takeaways, paragraph for meeting-note style), so you match the output to how you'll actually use it.
Three sources, one flow
- Paste text — the fastest path. Works with anything up to ~8,000 characters.
- Paste a URL — the browser fetches the page, strips scripts/nav/footer, and pipes the readable text through. Some sites block cross-origin fetches (CORS); when that happens, copy the article manually instead.
- Upload a PDF — parsed in your browser with pdf.js. The file never uploads. Works on the first 40 pages of any text-based PDF (scanned PDFs need OCR first).
Three output styles
- Bullets — the default for meeting notes, article briefs, and "send me the summary" Slack replies.
- TL;DR — one or two sentences. Perfect for chat, newsletter headers, or the top of a Notion doc.
- Paragraph — a coherent narrative summary, useful for research synthesis and executive briefings.
Frequently asked questions
No — the summariser parses PDFs in your browser via pdf.js. The file bytes never reach Toolenza's servers; only the extracted text (up to 12,000 characters) is sent to the AI provider for summarising.
Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS): many sites (including news paywalls) block direct browser fetches from third-party origins. When that happens, open the article and copy-paste the text into the "Paste text" tab instead.
Not directly — a scan is an image with no extractable text. Run the scan through the OCR tool first, then paste the OCR output into the summariser.
Yes — summarisation is deterministic (same input → same output), so repeated summaries of the same text are served from cache. This makes viral shares fast and cheap.
