About Subscription Tracker
Why most people overpay
The average US household pays for 12 paid subscriptions and misjudges the total by 130%, according to a 2021 C+R Research survey. Free trials slide silently into paid plans. Yearly renewals fire at 2 AM, three months after the last reminder email got buried. A $9.99 charge feels free; twelve of them is $1,440 a year.
A single ledger that shows your monthly and yearly total — with a countdown to the next renewal — converts "I think I have a lot" into a clean number you can negotiate down.
What this tool does
- One row per subscription. Name, price, currency, cycle (monthly, yearly, quarterly, weekly), next renewal date, optional notes.
- Live totals. Monthly cost (everything normalised to a per-month rate), yearly cost (× 12), and a count of subs renewing in the next 7 days.
- Renewal countdown. Each row tells you how many days until the next charge. The next-7-days tile turns red so you can't miss an upcoming auto-renewal.
- Archive, don't delete. Pause a sub when you're trialling cancelling it; restore in one click if you actually missed it.
- Your data stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Sign in (Pro) to sync across your phone and laptop and receive a push reminder a week before each renews.
How to use this list to actually save money
- Add everything. Statements, app store, Apple/Google subscriptions, Amazon Prime, AWS, Adobe, GitHub Copilot — anything that hits your card on a schedule.
- Look at the yearly total first. The monthly number is psychologically small; the yearly number is the real one.
- Sort by price descending and ask of the top five: did I use this in the last 30 days? If no, cancel today; you can re-subscribe in a month if you miss it.
- Move yearly billing to monthly for anything you're unsure about — the small premium buys you an exit at month 1 instead of month 12.
- Stagger renewals away from your salary date so you see them clearly on your statement rather than buried among rent and bills.
Privacy & data
Everything you type is stored in your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly upgrade to Pro for cross-device sync. There is no analytics on your subscription data — we don't see your list.
Frequently asked questions
In your browser only (localStorage). Closing or refreshing the page is safe. Pro users get encrypted cross-device sync; otherwise nothing leaves your computer.
Yearly price ÷ 12. Quarterly = price ÷ 3. Weekly = price × 4.345 (the average number of weeks in a month). Monthly subs are passed through unchanged.
On Pro with push notifications enabled, yes — one push a week before each renewal. On the free tier the renewal countdown is shown in the table whenever you open the page.
Toolenza only tracks them — you cancel through the provider directly. Most apps hide the cancel button under Account → Subscription → "Manage". For App Store / Play Store subscriptions, cancel in your phone's store, not in the app.
Pro users can export the list as CSV/JSON and share. A shared multi-user household ledger is on the roadmap — open an issue if you want it sooner.
Each subscription has its own currency. The monthly/yearly totals currently sum within each currency rather than auto-converting; use the currency converter tool for a unified figure if you mix.
