About Prayer Times
Salah (prayer) times are computed from the sun's position at your latitude and longitude for a given date. This calculator uses the widely-used adhan astronomical library (the same core logic behind mainstream mosque and app calculators) and lets you pick the calculation method that matches your community's standard.
Calculation methods
The five methods differ mainly in the sun-depression angles used for Fajr (dawn) and Isha (nightfall):
- Umm al-Qura (Saudi Arabia) — Fajr 18.5°, Isha 90 minutes after Maghrib.
- Muslim World League (worldwide default) — Fajr 18°, Isha 17°.
- ISNA (North America) — Fajr 15°, Isha 15°.
- Egyptian General Authority — Fajr 19.5°, Isha 17.5°.
- University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi (South Asia default) — Fajr 18°, Isha 18°.
Asr school
Asr can be computed with the shadow ratio of 1 (Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali — the 'Standard' setting) or 2 (Hanafi). The Hanafi Asr is roughly 45–60 minutes later.
Download month as .ics
The download button emits a .ics calendar file with one event per prayer per day for the current month — import it into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, or any calendar app to see prayer times inline with your other appointments.
