Text Diff
Compare two texts word-by-word or char-by-char, side-by-side or inline.
About Text Diff
What this does
Paste two versions of a text and see exactly what changed. Toggle between an inline diff (green additions, red strikeouts) and a side-by-side view. Choose word-level or character-level granularity, and optionally ignore case. The comparison happens entirely in your browser using the jsdiff library.
Handy for
- Reviewing a proposed edit to a paragraph
- Comparing two API responses or config files
- Catching subtle punctuation / typo differences that sneak through review
- Verifying you pasted the right revision before publishing
Frequently asked questions

No — jsdiff runs entirely in your browser tab.
Not on this page — for multi-way merges use a dedicated 3-way tool. This tool covers the vast majority of "which of these two is right?" cases.
Total characters added (green) and removed (red). Unchanged characters are not counted.
